Action Resources

One of the goals of Reach Action is to be an educational training ministry that helps equip followers of Jesus on how to respond biblically to the challenges we face in being salt and light in a dark, fallen world.

After our country was thrown into chaos after the George Floyd incident in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 25, 2020, I was concerned by some of the educational responses and resources provided by some in the Christian community as to how we should respond to the challenges.

After reading some of the advice coming from some of the often quoted and recommended racial reconciliation resources, I immediately got a check in my spirit that said this is not the answer.
Therefore, I went on an educational journey to learn more about “Critical Race Theory” and the “Social Justice Movement”.

After many months of research (14), I discovered what I believe is the best resource followers of Jesus should read regarding understanding what “Critical Race Theory” and the “Social Justice Movement” are, what their origins are, and how we (followers of Jesus) should respond to them biblically.

This resource is “Fault Lines – The Social Justice Movement and Evangelicalisms Looming Catastrophe”, by Voddie T. Baucham Jr.

If we are to be salt and light in a dark, fallen world, we need to be like the men of Issachar who understood the times and knew exactly what to do (1 Chronicles 12:32). We need to be able to give an answer for the hope that we have… and to do so with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15); as God’s ambassadors (2 Corinthians 5:20) we need to contend for the faith (Jude 1:3-4). This excellent book will help us do this as Baucham masterfully lays out the historical and biblical understanding we need to have so we can respond God’s way to the challenges we face in our country.

Another good biblical resource is We Will Not Be SILENCED by Edwin W. Lutzer

Let me encourage you to get educated, be bold, and always be prepared to give a reason for the hope that you have in God’s Word and in the Word Made Flesh (John 1:14).

Additionally, one of the best ways we can effectively deal with the equity and equality issue is to be involved in poverty alleviation. One of the best resources I’ve read dealing with this from a biblical worldview is “When Helping Hurts“.

I believe every follower of Jesus involved in poverty alleviation will greatly benefit from reading this amazing resource so we can do poverty alleviation without hurting those we’re seeking to help.

Finally, if you have not gone through our free online evangelism training, please click here to begin getting equipped to fulfill God’s “Great Commission” (Mt. 28:18-20).
