Senator Williams Graves
Dear Senator Williams Graves,
I saw your speech on the floor of the Senate using God, Jesus, the Bible, and your self-identification as a “Christian woman” to promote and justify the killing of unborn human beings.
First, I pray for you, because you identify as a follower of Jesus but you misrepresent His clear teachings and are a false witness (Proverbs 19:5). That’s not a good place to be.
I believe you are sincere in your beliefs, but you are sincerely wrong. God’s Word is clear on the killing of innocent people (Exodus 20:13; Matt. 5:21).
Your misunderstanding or manipulation of God’s Word is clear. Although you are right in saying that God gives us free will, you left out the part where He holds us accountable for our choices.
Your logic is also flawed in that if you take your theology or ideology to its logical conclusion, you can justify anything by saying that “since God gives us free will, we should not force our will on others”.
We continuously force our wills on others, we call them laws. Laws are in place to discourage people from destructive behaviors. Sure, we have free will to do whatever we want, but the law and the legal system hold us accountable for violating these laws.
Likewise, God gives us laws also known as commandments – do not kill, do not steal, do not commit adultery, etc.…; and He holds us accountable when we break His laws and commandments.
Most importantly, God offers us forgiveness for our sins and salvation. These are free gifts that God gives us. He also gives us the free will to receive or reject these gracious and merciful gifts, however, He will also honor our choice – eternal life with Him (Heaven) for those who repent and receive Jesus as Savior and Lord, and eternal life apart from Him (Hell) for those who reject Jesus as Savior and Lord.
I pray that you would repent of your misrepresentation of God’s Word and for aligning yourself with evil – killing babies and whatever other godless practices you advocate.
God’s love and forgiveness are available to you and all those who call good evil and evil good (Isaiah 5:20). I pray that you would get right with God. I pray this for all those who call evil good and good evil for those who put darkness for light and light for darkness, for those who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
Jesus came for such as these, which according to God’s Word is all of us (Romans 3:23). Praise God for His love, mercy, and grace.
Sincerely,
Tim
